As a writer, I do not condone the use of artificial intelligence to write stories. In fact, the very idea of using AI to write a book seems absurd to me: if I had AI write my novel, what would be the point of writing? My novels and other writing projects are written by me and me alone; no AI is involved in the writing process.
Most of the visuals on this website come from my personal photographs and drawings, some very old, others more recent. I used Canva to create the collages you can see on the various pages, and the artworks I did not make myself are in the public domain or from Canva. You can also visit the credits page to learn more about the other creators whose work I borrowed to build this site.
However, some parts of this website were made with the help of AI, and I want to be transparent about it. First, the structure of the site itself was built with the help of artificial intelligence. I also used AI to colourise and clean up the outlines of some of my drawings: I originally drew them on paper in pencil, and photographs of them don’t always render well digitally. AI also helped me edit some of my images (removing backgrounds, creating sticker cut-outs, small retouches).
To conclude, I think AI is a great tool, and I have used it to assist me with tasks outside my professional skills. I enjoy experimenting with it, and it has been a great help with many aspects of this site, but I do not think it should, or could, truly replace human creativity.
